I had access to the admin panel until I cleaned up cookies and the like. Now when I logged back in there was no way to access admin functions.

Somehow I lost admin privies. I am the creator of this board and can access the code on the DB. Is there a specific place I can write myself in?

Being new to this I feel a bit silly posting this but it is truely frustrating. Can anyone please help in this matter? All help is greatly appretiated.

In your database, under nuke_authors
See if your admin user name is there. It should be.

The 'aid' field will be your admin name and the 'name' field should be 'God'

If it is not, then you can run this query to insert the God account back into the nuke_authors table

INSERT INTO `nuke_authors` VALUES ('admin', 'God', '', 'youremail@yoursite.com', '5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99', 0, 1, '');

The login would be username:admin and password would be 'password', without the hyphens. Then you can login and change your password once you are in.

Is there a bug as far as God status is concerned? I am fluent enough in installing now that I have done 3 installs and when i log in initialy as "god" everything is ok. Now if I log ouit and wipe cookies then I can not log in as "god" or admin. Is this a bug is there a fix?

This is really trippin me out and frustrating me to no end. Up side is I can now clean install in 20-30 minutes :P


Would sql connect coll type matter or cause this to happen. Perhaps a problem in reading the tables?

It has to be browser specific or a cookie problme. I don't see how you can be logged in as admin then logout, clear cookies and not be able to get back in as admin be related to a Database problem.

When you go into your database after you cannot loggin, is the God account there under the _authors table?

If so, change the password to that code I gave you before that makes the pass=password, then try logging in again.

Is there any way you can test using another browser, like Firefox or Netscape?

Or create a test Admin account that I can try? I use Firefox.
