novice to phpnuke, but want to build community for survivors of indescribable abuses
Hi All,

I'm a basically private person, but maybe this board will bring me out some

The whole purpose and desire of my setting up a phpnuke website is that everything I read about it was just what I needed to achieve what I wanted.

Did I mention that I am a complete novice to programming and scripts? Did I say novice? Actually, totally ignorant of it all is probably more accurate

I am getting as much information together as I can in order to learn how to create a reasonably large community online for survivors of some of the most horrendously unspeakable abuse most folks can even imagine and few want to hear about.

Survivors of these types of abuse have got to be able to have a safe and as private as possible place to talk about those things.

Trust is hard for survivors of these types of abuse and the mental health field can only get so far because of the extreme distrust of pretty much everyone they come in contact with. Abuse respects no age, race, religion or economical statis.

So, what I want to do is make it as "survivor supportive" as I possibly can by offering as many resources such as articles, links to helpful sites, blogs, journals, bb with a variety of forums, multiple chatrooms preferably some requiring password permission if such script exists.

I was so very impressed with the wide variety of addons offered by phpnuke that I knew right away I had to use it. Now I just have to learn about it and for that I thank all of you here who contribute so much.

Any suggestion on anything that you might think would be helpful in building this type of community would truly be appreciated!

God Bless!

I posted on here a few days back so you're not the only 1 about.

Although I do agree, it's pretty much dead around here, just like many other phpnuke support sites.

Back to your original post, to be honest if you're a total website novice phpnuke may not be for you, many addons can be quite flakey as can phpnuke itself.

There are probably far more stable and suitable platforms out there for your needs.

Neocrome - Website engines

Try this, I use this on any personal site I have it is so much more secure then nuke, it is very user friendly. The updates fast, well when there are updates they take months but its no where near nuke, nuke has updates like every few weeks with a new phpnuke version (atleast when i was using nuke it did)
