If you want a free web hosting, you can get it at Welcome to Website4U.co.cc!. The one running the site is a friend of mine (David). His free web hosting doesn't require you to have an advertisement banner. As with all free webhosting, there's bandwidth limits. But the bandwidth limits should be enough for most users.

If what you want is a good web hosting, try the subscription ones. I tried PowWeb, SiteGround, Proclanhosting, etc. before but nothing matches with Lunarpages. Lunarpages is a little expensive than the others but it's very stable than the ones I tried. Not even the Load Balancing Technology that others have can match its speed & ease of use.

If you have a good, always ON net connection & wants total control with your web hosting, you can host your site on your PC. It's not very reliable & can't be compaired with typical site hosting but you have total control over it. It's not really that hard to do. There's plenty of available software to choose for free in the net that you can use. You can either use XAMMP Server, WAMP Server & many others.

Does this sound right myrtle?
I agree, PowWeb is really slow than others. I too cancelled my subscription with them after less than a week.
