Everyone,

I appreciate all your advice and willingness to share your knowledge. I got a PM from Marty offering to help me. We walked through my config.php file and decided to blow it away and start over with the one I downloaded with the Nuke 7.6 application.

Anyway, the problem with the parsing error went away once I used the new file. The problem with connecting to the MySQL server was because I did not have the proper db prefix specified in line 57 of the config.php file (I left it blank. I should have looked a the prefix assigned by my ISP when the Nuke 4.3 install automatically generated the Nuke db and input that value.)

My content pages were preserved without problems, so that fear has been assuaged. Things are as they should be right now and I'm proceeding along as planned. Check
http://www.gliderrider.com in a few days to see what I've done.

Take care and have a great day!

Regards,

Mike
