I am using fisubsilver and phpib2 theme sets and these do not show up in Netscape 4.x and older. All I get is a blank page. I don't have any problems with Opera 6 or 7 or Netscape 7. Also Shagadelic and Olivia also do not work in the Netscape.

Normally I don't worry about this because Netscape users are usually 2-5% of my visitors and some of them would be using V6 or 7. However, with this new site a lot of the visitors will be anti-Microsoft types who wont use anything but Netscape 4.X. I am already getting complaints. Also I need to use the more modest themes such as fisubsilver.

I am not so worried about phpib2 but if anyone can offer some help on how I get fisubsilver to work in Netscape I would be grateful.

I hate to tell you but this theme your are using on Nukemods does not work in Netscape 4.x and below either.

By the way if you need older-type browsers for testing you can them from
http://browsers.evolt.org/.

I can only suggest to your complainers, using a non Micro$oft OS such as LINUX, beOs or Mac which will have alternative browsers that can use any theme available. This is PHP-Nuke which uses PHP scripts, these scripts weren't around when Netscape 4x was written. If you want to be 100% compatable then use 100% HTML for your web site.

Moving in the right direction, Older browsers are becoming a thing of the past, and IMO are not even considered to be used by any considerable amount of users.

Ok, so I have been looking at using phpib2 theme since it is nice looking and I just tried Netscape from work (I typically use IE) and sure enough it is 4.76 and it does not work. :roll: Now I understand not spending the time to make it work with old versions. Of course NS 7 works fine.

1) Is there a list of browsers and versions that the theme work with?

2) How should I "error" out visits by people with uncompatible browsers?
a) Modify something in index.php ???
b) Create an index.html that then call index.php only if correct browser and report error otherwise? Any files out there?
c) Other?
