You will find that most everyone will give you the same answer, if it's above 7.6 then we simply don't know. If your webhost offers Power Tools through Fantastico, it's a safe bet to not use them to install nuke because it's guaranteed to be nuke 7.7 and up, all of which are buggy from the very start.

I wasted an entire weekend on Fantasticos version of nuke and I can tell you first hand, it's a waste of time. It's way easier and far less time consuming to install a completely patched version of nuke 7.6 than it is to install a buggy fantastico version and request bug fixes all over the net.
