Well, I installed the following.

PHP-Nuke 7.6
NukePatch 3.2
Nuke Sentinel 2.5.02pl
Update to PHPBB 2.0.21

So Far 2 blocked IP's over night in Sentinel and no more bots spamming my forums anymore.
