Im having same issue I have all the premissions set correct my name was showing as Orange my mods wernt I managed to sort The mods out but my name now has gone back as normal user... any sugestions ? ( I tried sql admin like duke mentioned above but I do not have admins settings in nuke_user.sql I did find this problem about "user_id"

Those notifications show up in fresh installs as well, more poor design but not the cause of your problem.

Any ideas how do I fix this issue ?
Mabye this will help this is what exacly I'm having problem with
as you can see by pic1 my name is set as user.
So I change it to admin as its shown in pic 2

I hit submit and it tells me it's been updated like so

But when I go back and check my name it's showing me as normal user again and not as admin even tho it told me it's been updated.... any help would be aprishiated thank you....

For whatever reason your rank is not being altered within the db and I have no idea why.

I think you mentioned that you were in the nuke_users table already but did you try changing the user_level number from ? to 2? I believe changing this value within the nuke_users table should make you an admin.
