Public area inside domain

I'm trying to create a public area inside my domain to upload sigs, pics and other crap.

Everytime I create the folder through the ftp and try to access it through my browser it gives me the following error

You don't have permission to access /Snot/ on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Any ideas how I can create a public area inside my nuke install?

Why not just get a photo gallery or install an upload module?

I want a little more freedom and simplicity than that.

Are you saying there isn't any way to do it? I just recently upgraded to the newest Raven Nuke pack and lost this ability and really miss it.

I'm saying that I don't know of another way to do it. Personally I wouldn't recommend too much freedom within your site for security reasons.

I just registered another domain as a filedump.

Seemed like the easiest solution.
