Tranfering questions - 10-21-2004, 02:16 PM

Hi,

I currently have a subdomain on a friends site, and I set up a PHPBB2 forums.

I am getting my own site now and figured I'd set up a php-nuke site (because well, they're cool 8) )

Anyway, I was wondering what the best way to transfer my old forums to this new site would be? I have a lot of information on those forums that I'd really hate to loose. And linking to them as my forums kinda defeats the purpose of getting my own site

I thank you in advanced for any help,
Evil Smiley

I would start by getting a fresh load of PHP-Nuke up and running.
Then grab the phpBB forum porting script from http://www.nukeresources.com
It is a script that will transfer your phpBB forum's data(users, posts etc.) to the phpBB forums in PHP-Nuke.

Make sure you backup everything first.

thanks man, I'll give that a shot

*edit*

this will work with the forums being at one website, and wanting to tranfer them to a different site? (where the php-nuke will be setup)

This will transfer your current phpbb database to be able to run with nuke without losing posts/forums and users.
