Recent Post Center Block problems - 01-25-2005, 09:02 AM

I'm having some problems that no one has been able to help me with, I've poasted this question on a number of boards, and no one has helped.. I'm at a total loss here.

The nutshell version is that none of the center blocks that are supposed to display recent posts work for me, with one exception.. the recent posts block that comes with the stock install of Nuke works.. but as you all know, the info it displays is well, non-existant.. heh

I've tried SO many blocks, I dont know what to try.. every time I come across a block that says it will do what I want, I try it and it dont work.

The site is http://evilsmiley.darktech.org so you can see, I've got two blocks on there at the moment, neither of which work properly. One does show the forum stats correctly tho (number of posts, etc) just does not display the threads themselves.

test/test is a test account for you if you want to log in and check things out. I've tried while logged in and out, admin and basica ccount, everything.. I am completely stuck on this.

If Anyone can help me on this, or at least point me in the right direction, I would be severely appreciative.

Thank in advance

Reverend

It was a simple thing that was causing me massive amounts of errors that I didnt post about, I wanted to tackle one problem at a time.. heh

the DB variable was set to 'mysql4' and someone suggested I change that to 'MySQL' .. so I did, and BOOM! Everything works, including some problems I was having where some module links in the ACP would return an 'access denied'

so that was it.. change from 'mysql4' to 'MySQL'
