Can I use a stand-alone download module?
I am building a downloads site, not with phpnuke, but with dreamweaver and I would like to know if I can use the Downloads module that is used in phpnuke for my site.

I'm afraid that you can not doe that, because ALL the modules require a lot from other files in the standard root dir from php-nuke

Is there any othe way?
How can I build one myself? Would I have to learn PHP & MySQL?

I have a book here on that, I might consider reading it all, but is this going to help me?
