Are there any tutorials for making a simple theme.I find the default tutorial in the phpnuke help docs difficult to understand.Can anyone write a simple tutorial for making a theme.I really wanna make one myself.

well u need loads of time on your hands if u wana do that what most people do they just edit the original Theme and add what they want in it as u can edit everything I.e Im usin Pack-zoneCopper and I edited them theme they way i want it I could of changed everything in it change its full look but as I sead u need loads of time on your hands with myin all I did is change forum icons and changed the colouer of the thing u can see it here www.badbfv.com Any way if u need help with pics give me a shout Im always around here Good luck Boris

Here is what I found if u wana make your own Theme



Introduction:

This tutorial is just one of many ways on how to make a theme for nuke, I use alot of different ways to make themes, the way Im going to show on this tutorial is the way I think is most basic and easy to do. Since most know more about html than php, we will make this theme in html. Due to the amount of time I have, this tutorial won't be so detailed but I'll try my best, and this tutorial is based on the sample theme I've included, thats the structure and setup I will be exlaining on this tutorial. Before we start, you will need the software listed below, if you do not have the software listed I've provided the link to download a free trial version of the software, make sure to download them before moving on.

Required tools:

-Adobe photoshop6 or higher Download free trial
-Image ready 2.0 or higher
(If you have Photoshop 6 or higher this comes with it.)
-Any html editor
(notepad is fine.)
-Flash 5 or higher
(eyecandy, not necessary.) Download free trial

If your viewing this tutorial on my site then grab the sample theme that this tutorial is based on, at the bottom of this page, it also contains the psd files, the theme html files, and the theme.php file. It is a good idea to have the files next to you as I try to go over each section and explain how this works. Keep in mind this is only one of many ways on making themes, this is not the only way or the correct way, I just figured its an easier way. If you installed this tutorial on your nuke then Im sure the theme is already installed lol. Also, this tutorial wont be as detailed as I want it to be due to the amount of time I have, in the future, I will make a detailed tutorial. At anytime you missed something or like to go ahead, use the menu below to go forward or backward. Last note, during the tutorial I will go by sections, header, blocks, footer, etc, based on this tutorial theme's theme.php. I will only go through each section's html as the theme.php itself remain the same. In most of the html and php files, I've added some pointers and comments/ options that you can change or config, as we go on I will try to point those out. The psd files are just samples of a very simple design, feel free to change them as you like. Did I mention that I am a bad teacher? So bare with me here.

Firstly thaks a lot for replying..
Yeah I know it will be time consuming and so in the beginning i don't mind using others themes and modding them like the colors and images to make a new theme.But I'm not sure if the same them.php file will work.Anyway i'm trying different things to make a theme, that tutorial you posted surely will be helpful.Thanks a lot again.And nice site .

mikem thats the common tutorial by mtechnik which is difficult to bring into action , i want to know how you make themes.Do you use photoshop too ?

NO, I use fireworks to do my graphics. And I also use a theme that uses html files. HTML is easy to work with for me.
Although, even a theme that only uses a theme.php file, still uses html, but it is coded slightly different.
