It will. You first though, have to go into your Forum administration. And doa couple things.
Make the Particular forum hidden to only a certain group or users.
You do this by changing the Forums permissions and USer or Groups permissions. Play around with it to get an idea of what it will do.
Once you hide that Forum, no one will be able to see any posts from it in the recent center posts block.
