Anyone know what core.XXXX files are?
I keep seeing this files in the phpnuke directory, and they are quite large. Do you know what they are? or if I can delete them?

Usually when some application or process crashes - it generates one of those core dump files - numbered with whatever it can find next in the sequence. I'd contact your host and let them know about them.
