phpBB: invalid_session errors. - 05-18-2003, 02:30 AM

We have over 5,000 users and many email me about not being able to reply or post and get "invalid_session" errors. Is there a fix for this? Ive upped the user session time limit to 6000 and still no luck. If theres not a fix is there another forum that will work in nukephp cause this phpbb error is killing me.

ThaRow

It's a problem with AOL accounts only from what I know. You need to change a line in your include/sessions.php. I do not know the line off the top of my head so do a search for "Invalid Session". I think Mike already posted a fix for this in the forums.

Vachi

Update: Check your PM. It was line 294/295 of sessions.php. Change to

$ip_check_s = substr($userdata['session_ip'], 0, 4);
$ip_check_u = substr($user_ip, 0, 4);

this may sound wierd, but if i try to use the forum, or make news using the computer that i installed phpNUKE with, i get invalid session, ect.... but the puter right next to the one that gives me erros(on same network at my school) it works fine. and in the forum, it sees the same ip address for both, but why would only one get invalid sessions??

xp problem - 05-19-2003, 11:01 AM

i was just testing my forum at several computers at my school, and i only get invalid sessions when i use puters w/ XP as the OS. Max os9x,10x and windows 9x,nt and linux 8 and 9 work fine, but windows xp gives me trouble w/ invalid sessions. i even tried deleteing the ip security check, but that didnt' work, and having it at 6 doesn't effect any other OS.

i tried changing the securit levels on the xp browser settings and nothing seems to work.

What about XP's built in Internet Firewall? Have you tried disbaling it and see what happens. WHO knows?..worth a try.
