I am one of those people, who most say to " find anouther hobby." I happen to become new to the computer world and found it intriguing. However, my journey has not been a good one so far .I went to anouther site asking for help and they made me feel /---/ that small. They first told me, to check out Php for idiots and I did. When I went back explaining to them, that I did not understand it, they pretty much got annoyed with my questions and gave me the brush off. I am not used to the workings of a website and wanted to learn. But I fear that I might be too old to learn, or just too slow to grasp the concept. Anyhoo, I recently purchased a website, got the PHP NUke portal up and I get all confused after that. I am having a hard time understanding the SQL and and Apache and and how to do the uploads in the directory. Basically, I need some one to refer me to a easier layout of the workings. I am not asking for anyone to do it for me, but I am hoping there is someone who has seen a reference guide, for the people like me, who are a little more slow on the uptake. I only been looking behind the seens of the computer since Feburary. I only ever used them for games and e-mail. I did manage to do a basic tuturial on HTML. I think I grapsed it well, so I can learn, just maybe a little slower tan most.

I know I am probably one of those people, you feel like saying find anouther Hobby, but please can someone help me?

No one is too old to learn about the web and to put up a website (=> Take mikem as example :wink: just kidding huh )
Well there is the Idiots Guide wich should learn you the basics of phpnuke, then you have forums like this one where you can ask specific question about stuff that goes wrong on your site or that you need help with. Also there are the files already delivered with phpnuke wich can tell you all about the structure that's used in phpnuke.

No like me.....let tell you about my life with phpnuke......well, most people don't have THAT much time, so I'll move on.

At first I was overwhelmed but I stayed with it and I am now finally starting to get the hang of it....Upload and I finally get along. That is also another long story.

Anyways, you will find help here. The staff are great and knowledgable. And besides, us nukers have to stick together, we are all we have really.

no i was the bigest no0b at one point in time! after you get the hang of it you get to be really great but i still have some problems an have to post every few months or soo! so dont ever feel bad when u come post everyone has done it even mighty_Y anor an mikem! lol hehe i love posting ur names in there make me feel better! lol

well also dude i had to start with that no0b install where it walks you through the how to install phpnuke and now i get how ppl do it through the phpmyadmin and that kinda stuff if that makes sense to anyone!

Yup maybe I can find my first post ever on portedmods.com, I posted it as a guest on portedmods and now I'm an admin there :P
