RC1 is it ready for a production site in your opinion?
I asked this over at Nuke cops because I know they have been doing a lot of dev work on it, but I know you guys have been testing it here too. So I figured I would ask the same thing here.
The below is a cut and paste of my message over there. (my apologies to those of you who visit both boards and have to see my ramblings twice )

So I am curious, now that you guys have had some time to play. Is RC1 ready for Prime time? Should I start to develop his site, or should I wait another two weeks or so till 6.5 final (stable) is released?
The client is a not for profit church ministry, so while a lot of people use his current site, which someone else initially designed, located at www.rmjc.org he wants to start using a real guestbook, message boards, and photo gallery so it is time for him to go to something more dynamic. I have designed and maintain 3 other nuke sites so not like I am a newb or anything So just curious are there any show stopper bugs that should cause me to wait a little longer, or could I D/L RC1 today and be pretty much ok?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would say GO For it. I don't think there are any more major bugs to work out. You may run across some little things, but nothing that should be too bad.
Nuke6.5 RC1 will be pretty much the one, as long as no big things jump out that need fixed, but most everythign has been fixed since beta1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8...hehe

Hi Mike, but there's no upgrade script from RC1 to the full release, if FB changes or add a single database field, you have to detect it by yrself.
I think unless you really need to finish it this site in a short time, another 2-3 weeks should be worth to wait. You've been waiting forever for this, why not another 2 weeks?
Just my thought!
Cheers,
CK

Hasn't nuke cops been making upgrade scripts for each of the beta versions pretty much?
But yea thats why I asked once I get going with his site I don't want to have to upgrade right away, especially since most of the nuke sites I maintain end up being pretty heavily modified.
I guess I can put em off for a week or two more. I just know that my client is getting itchy, which I don't really know why since he already has an existing webspace, I am thinking it is because he already told some of his community that a new design would be coming soon :?
Anyways Thanks for the input!!!

Well, after close observation of Nuke6.5 RC1 on my test site..bah...
I definately can take back my statement, Don't start using it. :?
As far as Database changes. I don't think there will be anymore. FB has made the major changes from beta5-beta8.
Actually beta 8 runs better than the RC1 version.
Nukecops, has their site upgraded to phpBB2.0.4 in the Forums module.
I wonder if FB plans to implement that since phpBB 2.0.3 has a security issue?
An upgrade script would be nice, but ther hasn't been one for any of the changes from each beta. Nukecops has made few, but FB has never included anything.
I wonder if he even plans to include th upgrade script to upgrade from Nuke6.0 with phpBB port already to Nuke6.5? A lot of users running those combinations on their systems.

That's right Mike, FB won't include anything officially, and no upgrade script between beta to RCs, or RCs to the final. I don't think Nukecops has them neither. You have to be carefully to start using them if you one of those that always modify the codes instead on just the theme's layout.
The old phpbb2 that include with nuke 6.5, it's not the newest version but it has all the necessary fix to be secure, so don't worry about that. I think FB won't include an upgrade for 6.0 users to upgrade their forum port but Nukecops does, and again... unofficial one

I think the thing that eerks me the most is FB totally removed the Avatar functions. No more upload avata, no more link to offsite. And no more multiple avatar galleries.
You can get to your Forum profile in the 6.5 releases, but no changes will save and all the fixes I have tried to apply to the usercp_register.php file have failed to make the changes save...

Mikem I have sent you PM before with the fix to let everything save in the forumsprofile but I didn't have the chance to test it with RC 1 release so use it at your own risk. Everything works except the avatargalery.
deleted this download because of mistakes

PS. This hack is made for the beta 8 version, for the official release I'll maybe make another.

Mighty, I tried your 6.5 version of the Forum registration hack on both RC1 and beta8. Whenever I try to save any settings in teh Forum Profile. I get the current password does not match the one supplied.
Tried re-adding the code a couple of times with the same result. :?
Another wierd thing. When I try to use the Forum registraiton, it puts my IP address automatically in the uname field..lmao...wierd..
Also, it does nto let me register in the Forums.
You must fill in the required fields is the response I get everytime no matter if I fill in everything or not...

Then I forgot something because I got it working on my site, but it's offline I have registered for 10 times without mistakes and I could edit my profile.
I look at it when the official release comes out, I'll take the download from my server now.
Bye,
