Request for assistance......mildly stupid, was born this way - 08-25-2006, 07:30 AM

I currently work on a website that uses php.

We have had a rash....like herpes only worse....of hacks.

Most are minor and easly fixed, but some have done permanent damage to blocks module and other stuff.

I need to be directed on how to upgrade the site.

When I go to mysqladmin it shows two different version numbers for my Php. So I am also confused a bit.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Exactly what version numbers is it showing you?

Also, can you provide a link to your website?

Your best bet to find what version of phpbb is to go to http://www.iacoj.com/modules/Forums/admin/index.php

Powered by phpBB 2.0.15 © 2001 phpBB Group
phpBB port v2.1 based on Tom Nitzschner's phpbb2.0.6 upgraded to phpBB 2.0.4 standalone was developed and tested by:
ArtificialIntel, ChatServ, mikem, sixonetonoffun and Paul Laudanski (aka Zhen-Xjell).

Version 2.1 by Nuke Cops © 2003 http://www.nukecops.com

That is the version info off the bottom of the page. Not sure that is the actual version though. (ie refer to title, I am a dumb ass)

You're running 2.0.15 so you'll need to upgrade as follows:

- 2.0.15 - 2.0.16
- 2.0.16 - 2.0.17
- 2.0.17 - 2.0.18
- 2.0.18 - 20.0.19
- etc. etc.

The upgrades are not cumulative, they have to be done one at a time.

OK..I figured that, nothing is easy.

A new question, I am just upgrading the forums, or the whole site as it is done in Php?

That being said, will those upgrades handle everything?

Those upgrades are for the forums and forum modules only, they do not cover the phpnuke CMS.

Ok duke thanks... I guess I need to read a bit before I attempt this.

The hacks have been site wide, so the forums is only part of the problem.
