Theme compatability - phpNuke and oscNukeLite - 09-15-2004, 03:47 AM

Hi guys,

First of all I want to say that this is by far the best nuke-related site I've seen and I've done quite a bit of wandering around them in the last few weeks. It's obvious you've put in a lot of hard work!

I'm hoping that since this is an "Open Topics" forum this question's appropriate. I've recently started using oscNukeLite and have been having a lot of problems finding any real documentation or good support forums. Would anyone here happen to know what exact differences there are between themes or modules made for PHP-Nuke and those made for oscNukeLite?

I downloaded a few PHP-Nuke themes that -did- work with my install of oscNukeLite, and found a few that thoroughly botched my site. I managed to find a workaround to get my old theme to work, but am concerned about attempting to install new modules, blocks, etc.. I know that given the fact that oscNukeLite IS different from PHP-Nuke I'd probably encounter problems doing some things, but was wondering if anyone could give me any clue as to what types of add-ons to avoid, and/or information about getting PHP-Nuke themes that currently won't work to work. I'm not asking for someone to hold my hand here, but can't even seem to get pointed in the right direction. Once that's happened I think I should be more than capable of figuring it out on my own.

Sorry for the super-long post, and any help's greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That is wierd. With as much as they advertise their osc2Nuke on nukecops site all the time, I thought they would have better support for THEIR product.

I have never used it nor do I know much about it. SO I would be little to no help unless I spent my free time downloading it, installing it and "figuring" it out etc.

To be honest, it really isn't worth my time to support someone elses product.

Hope that doesn't sound harsh, it's just one man's opinion.

mikem
