Just wondering if there was any waitting users with the name Mr-Sex-Cam or anyone with an email domain name from @cashette.com

Do a google search with the name Mr-Sex-Cam 59'000+ finds.

Ive been hit 3 times in the last week with this, the user must be using some kind of script to insert register details. I use email activation so iam ok, but iam wonder how they are doing that.

The domain cashette.com which I didn't look at throughly seems to pay for spam or something, its probably some sort of email harvester.

I'll PM CB and ask him to check the db. I've set the forums for user confirmation as well so I'm hoping we don't see these bots/tards here, but you never know.

I forgot the names of the bots that I deleted, but somehow they registered on my site and jsut began flooding everything all to hell. Luckily, Sentinel stopped the bots via a nice IP block... but they shouldn't have been able to get on in the first place.

I have also "seen" a program out there that is used for making mass accounts on sites that use the GFX check. It does work, unfortunately....

It’s a vicious cycle unfortunately and it happens everywhere so the nuke community is no different. The best thing you can hope for is to increase the level of difficulty in spamming and/or hacking a site but I don't believe you can ever make any software online truly safe.
