Downloads Lock - 02-04-2006, 09:49 PM

I have downloads on my site, but is there a way for only members to access the downloads?

You can make it so the downloads module is only visible to members by doing the following:

- login to admin panel "http://www.yoursitename/admin.php
- go to "Modules"
- find "Downloads" click edit
- change "Who can View This?" to Registered Users Only
- Save Changes

Yeah, I figured that out, but will the downloads still be in the menu section for vistitors, so they know that it is actually there.

It'll still be visible but not accessible. If you don't want it visible at all then you'll have to alter your theme as well because I see you have a dl link in you header.

When a guest clicks on your download link, they will see the following:

You are trying to access a restricted area.

We are Sorry, but this section of our site is for Registered Users Only.

You can register for free by clicking here, then you can
access this section without restrictions. Thanks.
