Hi,

I want to add another login module from the nuke home page.
but i want it to go to another location that hosts my videos.
So that a registered member can access them by using there username and password which they used to login to the forum.


so an exmaple would be:

1. member presses login link, prompted for username and pass and security code, member enters correct information = logged into forum

2. member presses the video1 link (not created yet), promted for username and pass and securty code, member enters correct information = member is now able to see a custom video1.html

3. 2. member presses the video2 link (not created yet), promted for username and pass and securty code, member enters correct information = member is now able to see a custom video2.html

4. 2. member presses the video3 link (not created yet), promted for username and pass and securty code, member enters correct information = member is now able to see a custom video3.html

and so on....

I hope you understand by statement, if not i will try and make it sound a little better.

unless some of you know a protected area within phpnuke that i can send my members.
The download button is not an option as that contains information i need to be available for guests and google bots.

Can you not just change your download area to members only access?

that would be fine, but i kinda want guests in the download section and googlebots to see the huge archive we have.

the only things i want protected from users is the videos and music.
If i can find a way to use the nuke username and password to ask it again before they go to the video that wil be ok.


I may have to just use apache htaccess as its easier to sort out.
or i may embed the videos into the forum as a member only section.

I've seen a number of sites that have download sections adjusted so you can only dl a file if you enter a randomly generated password. Sadly, I have no idea where to get a modified dl module such as this, hopefully someone else here does.

yes that would be handy to stop hotlinking if anyone knows this please let me know.



I have managed buring the past few hours, to create a secure unhotlinkable area where even if someone gets the url of the video its impossible to download which is great.

However i would like like to find what you say above.

I have also managed to block the download area for members only. Only registered members can view the downloads, when they click on a file they wish to watch or listen to a lunk asking to insert random test would be VERY handy!

I'll keep an eye out for an advanced download module or hack and post here should I find something.

Hopefully someone here will know where to get what I speak of in the meantime though.

Unfortunately Shawn's site has been down for quite some time, or I would recommend the EDL 2 module we're using here.
