Just plain stuck on adding content
Hello All,

I appologize but I have been trying to locate a post on this but to no avail.

I am having trouble creating a updatable box for my new website. I admit when I started out I knew nothing but slowly I have picked up just enough knowledge to be dangerous....very dangerous :P

I would like to create a box that supports pitures or text for my guild website. I have been messing around by creating news but they show up as links and not the actual text.

Similar to the ones listed here. These taken from your show-off forum.

I have been at it for so long I am just going to take a break and check back later, somtimes that helps clear the head a bit.

If I can be evil and double dip instead of create more threads in the future. I notice a lot of sites have the paypal logo and link for donations and the like. I was going nuts trying to figure that one as well.

I am sorry to ask what is probably a simple question. Thanks in advance this community is geat BTW.

I'm a little confused, are you asking for the .html on how to post images or are you looking for an image block thats linked to a photo gallery?

I can give you a link to the PayPal block when I get home from work tonite if no one else responds prior to then.

Well after beating my head against the wall I took a break and thought about everything but trying to build a website. After being able to properly collect my thoughts I believe it to be the news/story module that is what I need to be using. I just cant get it to scroll like the other sites examples. I like how they are able to update with text and pictures as exents happen. I will just keep messing with it. If anyone knows what I am talking about please let me know what I am missing. Chances are its so obvious I will be embarased.

Thanks for the link Duke.

Again thanks to all in the community for the advice to a noob you guys are the bestest.

Instead of being selfish and rude I just had this happen when I clicked on the forums link on my website

phpBB : Critical Error

Error creating new session

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1054 Unknown column 'session_admin' in 'field list'

INSERT INTO nuke_bbsessions (session_id, session_user_id, session_start, session_time, session_ip, session_page, session_logged_in, session_admin) VALUES ('ee9741594661a56f2485c8ea135f6f54', '2', '1154005006', '1154005006', '4368b78d', '0', '1', '0')

Line : 203
File : sessions.php

Any ideas. Thanks again!!!!!

After searching I found this:

Sounds like you simply need to use the News module. Make sure under the admin/modules that the News module is set for HOME.

Then just start adding News Stories. You can use basic HTML in your news postings, no problem. Then once you submit it, it should show up on your main page. If you want images in the news article, it is a matter of uploading the image to a "centralized" directory on your server and then posting a news article with a <img src link to that image.

Interesting, that file is no where in the pack for the full install or the theme add on. I will search on and thanks myrtle you have been awesome with the help.

Nope I unleashed the hounds and did a bunch more searches here to see if I could dig up the skinny but no luck finding that file. Perhaps someone will stumble on this thread who has had the same problem and knows the fix.
