I recently had a problem updating my phpbb to the latest version, I wasn't aware that you couldn't update phpbb that came bundled with PHPNuke the same way you update the stand-alone phpbb. It has caused me alot of hassles and I still can't get into my own forums although I know they arestill there. I was wondering if it is feasible or practical to install my forums outside my website and still link them without causing all forum features to malfunction.

If you updated your PHPBB within Nuke with the standalone PHPBB upgrade, then you may be hosed.

I hope you have a backup of your database PRIOR to upgrading. You should.

Best bet. Restore your backup.

Otherwise, you will have to learn some MySQL in order to figure out the database changes that were made by the upgrade script.
