Stepping On Toes - 12-17-2005, 09:27 AM

I really dont know where to post this and i have searched for the past 30 minutes as to not create a duplicate.

as u can tell i am a php nub.. but learning

Simple question really.

From what i have read i can freely change the banner of a template, correct?
Now, how much modification can i make to the theme?

For instance i am thinking of modifying the zonecopper theme for nuke and not wanting to "step on the toes" on the designer or infringe on any copyrights.

How far can i go?

my site: www.artofcs.com
its a CS:S clan site.

thanks in advance for your advise!

You can make any changes to the theme you like, for use on your site, as long as the theme credits stay intact (you can add your "modified by" info of course).

The more we learn... the more we realize how little we actually know.

I rarely use an unmodified theme, its impossible because its the only way to personalize your site.

I think everyones good with you modifying their themes so long as you don't re-release it as a theme download and take credit for it. You should also always leave the credits in tact IMHO so the creators get proper credit, more exposure and we win by getting more theme choices.

Hi there, I am using nuke evolution xtreme and getting help from the guys over there to convert zonecopper for this. I just wanted to make sure it was okay to convert, ofcourse leaving the credits intact.

As from the post above this look fine with coldblooded, it's a great theme thanks very much!
