hey all,

I'm new to web design...(basically know nothing..)
I've sort of figured that if I install a php-nuke and d/l a skin from this site...i have near enough a complete website to run a games'/squad site...
however....i find php-nuke too much for me...
what i need is something simple..with large navigation buttons on the left...that link to different pages, a forum, downloads and a filing system for news on the front page that are linked with the forums for news...
something very similar and simple as this site...

any ideas...where i can find a script like that..? or i have to custom make it..and if yes..how long will it take me to learn php...

Use the content module to do the pages.....nuke already has the boards and downloads.....and it is basically a very good news system site.

At first I also was overwhelmed.....I had to learn due to .....nevermind....don't get me started.....but now I'm really happy I stayed with it.

Many web guys look up to phpnuke and once you get to know it.....what it can do is amazing. It doesn't take long to get the hang of it. Use the idiot's guide it helped me.

I'm learning php, I thought I needed to learn it.....php is a server side of programming......but it's helpful to know some HTML with the nuke but then you can choose not to use it.

That is my opinion, for what it's worth......if a girl can do phpnuke.....well If I can do phpnuke anyone can.

Try this:

Login as Admin....next click Administration.....on that page that will appear click on modules....on that page you can then activate or DEactivate what you want to use.

I hope this helps. I'm not sure if that is what you were asking.
