Cobalt theme logo.jpg problem... - 05-03-2005, 02:20 PM

I have the Cobalt theme all up and running one of my sites, but I am having trouble with the logo in the top left corner (the one that says "Nukemods.com" by default).

Someone made a custom logo for me to put there, but when I put this new logo in "themes/Cobalt/forums/images" and over-write the original logo, the site will not show the custom logo. I know there is a logo template provided, but the guy didn't use that because we didn't think it would matter...
Is there something else I have to do? Does the logo have to have specific deminsions for it to work?
The logo works on other themes, just not Cobalt...

I would appreciate any help.

Ok so what exactly are you being showed, can we have a link to your site.

Also as you say in your topic title, the logo called for is a .jpg file

themes/Cobalt/forums/images/logo.jpg is your new logo a jpg file or gif image ?

You can of course edit that file being called for in the themes header file.

Well, I actually put the default logo back on for now...

When I have the custom logo on, it just shows a box outline with the red X icon that it shows when there is a dead image link.

Yes, I named the file "logo.jpg"

The site is: http://www.venturelandgames.com

I can put the custom image back on if you want to see... Just let me know.

Ok, it's back on...

Also, just wondering... Which header file would I edit if I also want to center the logo? I just tried to edit "header.html" in the "themes/Cobalt" folder to center the picture. It showed it as centered in my html editor, but not on the site...
Is there a different header file I should be editing?

Ok this image of yours is it a valid jpg file or are you just naming it that.

You mentioned you have other themes working fine what are they called ?

Maybe if your just renaming that image, it would be best to leave it as is. And edit the theme header file.

I'll have to check with the guy that made the image... I'm beginning to think that he did indeed do something funky when he made it!

I'll have to check what the other themes that it works on are called...

Also, sorry to add additional questions, but did you read the question in my last post about which header file to edit?

You could try the following by adding : align="center"

<td align"center">

</td>

Ok, I think the file might really be a .gif image...
I re-uploaded the image to the directory...
When I link directly to it, I can view it... As you can see below:

http://www.venturelandgames.com/them...mages/logo.gif

When I edit the "header.html" file to point it to logo.gif, it still doesn't show in the header. Am I editing the wrong file?

Here's what I have in header.html as far as the logo...

<p align="center"><a href="index.php">
</a></p></

Still shows it centered in my editor, but not on the site. And doesn't show the picture... Grrrr!
