fisubsilver and 6.5 weirdness
I noticed this theme has duplicate forum-related files (for example, template files) under the themes directory. Shouldn't all forum-related files go under modules/Forums? Could someone please clarify this for me?

The duplicate files under the themes directory are actually the ones that are used. I have been trying to port the MyCalendar mod (really cool, by the way!) to 6.5, but this splitting and duplicating of forum-related files is really messing me up.

Someone please set me straight...

Regards,
Bill

Hey I can answer that.

The Nuke theme directory layout changed a little in Nuke6.5
The forum template files moved from
modules/Forums/templates/Yourtheme
to
themes/Yourtheme/forums

Now the deal on the mods are that they will have to be modified, and all paths in the *.tpl files will need to be changed to reflect the new paths to the template files, which now reside in the
themes/Your Theme/forums folder

so, for instance, where you have
modules/Forums/templates/Yourtheme/images/cellpic1.gif

you now have
themes/Yourtheme/forums/images/cellpic1.gif

The default themes that ship with 6.5 do not have this change so why does this custom theme do things differently? Is everything under modules/Forums fine except what is under the templates/subSilver directory? What about the templates/subSilver/admin directory? I'm still confused and not sure what I need to change in the MyCalendar mod because of this.

Bill

Yes the default themes in Nuke6.5 DO have the path changes.
Look in DeepBlue theme, there is the subSilver tempalte files in the forums folder in there.
The only reason you see subSilver tempalte files is for the use of the Admin area of the Forum.
Now, if you have a theme that does not have the forums directory in it then it will look to the templates folder for the template files.
You basically use the subSilver for your Forum admin all the time. Never changing the Default style in Forum Admin Configuration. Leave it as subSilver. The nuke theme will control the theme changes for Nuke and the forums in 6.5
I think I am just making it more confusing.

Basically, look at your calendar mod. Does it use tpl files? If so then look in those files for paths like I posted above.

Check over at http://anorscorner.com
He is porting the phpBB mods on his site to work with Nuke6.5 I beleive he is or has done the Calendar mod.

Okay, that clears things up quite a bit. As far as any phpBB ported mods, everything stays down the modules/Forums path except for .tpl files and associated images. Is that correct?

I am actually starting from Anors port of MyCalendar, so this should just involve some minor changes (path changes mostly). Thank you for setting me straight. I think I have my bearings now. Perhaps I should tell Anor what I am up to - I'll post a message on his sight later on...

Bill

I'm not sure if it are only path changes you have to make if you start from the already ported version. You also have to change everything like uid back to uid

alos, if any MODS from phpBB used to call anything from the modules/Forums/includes folder, all the includes files from the phpBB Forum in Nuke6.5 have moved to the root includes folder.

Yes, I've accounted for the relocated includes files. Thanks for mentioning uid - forgot about that one.
