help if you can. - 02-03-2006, 06:20 PM

By now, all of you heard what i'm probably asking help for, but i dont understand this stuff. i dunno if i'm missing programs or anything. i am going to list the things i have done.

-i downloaded Pack-subBlack3dblue
-i then extrated the files
-then i uploaded all the files in the html folder to the website. i didnt upload the folders caue i cant do that on the site i'm using, so all the files are in one place.
-then i when to http://www.mysite.com/admin.php (not my actualy site) and my site was blank, no errors or anything.
-i tried finding some help in the forums. nothing worked, i went on a website were everyone keeps telling people to go look at, it ends with HOWTO, and i didn't know what section to look at for help, so the site was no help, if some could explian step by step what to do, that would be pretty awsome. also i have frontpage and dreamweaver 8 if thats anyhelp.

oh yea when i was reading throu a few forums, people were being told to change some stuff in the php, i forgot were thou and what to change, but i dont know if i needed to do that and if i did were do i do it.

i hope you understand my problem.

Oh I understand problem ok U have uploadit theme wrong... okis

lets say Theme is called matrix. now when you download the theme you will find 1 folder prob named html and other folders like extra, blocks, and so on. Ok now lets click on our html folder there you should find 1 folder Called matrix now if I want2 add this Theme on my site i would drag the whole matrix folder and drop it at

root/yoursitename/Themes/matrix

Now if i go to Admin panel i can Activate the whole theme But........

If the theme is wrong version to the site It might not work corectly..

try above See if it works bro Peace Killerbee.

well, damn i really wish i could know exactly what your saying, but i dont know this root thing. Lets say i open my computer or a folder or sumthing like that, do i type root/mysite/themes/subblack3dblue ?, i'm geussing that thats wrong. um well i dunno if its the website, for now i'm using a website for free, so i have a subdomian. i'm using freehostia.com . what you said above might not have anything to do with the website so i'm abit off topic here. i just dont really understand this root thing. also i'm thinking that you said i dont need to upload anything on the page, but root it to the page, if this is wrong than we can see that we are on a diffrent page.

really i wish i knew what to do so i dont have to bother you guys, but this is my last resort.

if the problem is with the website, than if you guys know any other websites that are easier to use or that are more recommended for nuke-php than that would be great.

First off, you need to post a link to your website, a bogus url does us no good whatsoever and there's no way to help someone if we can't see the problem ;-)

The way nuke is setup on your ftp is as follows:

html/themes/yourtheme

By the sounds of your post, you installed the theme in the html folder which is wrong. If you look in the html folder, you will see a folder called themes, that is where all the themes go.

ok open up your ftp to your site Root means The actual front page of ftp of your site there u should see folders like blocks, modules, images, so on and so on at the bottom of that you should see Themes folder.

Go in to your themes folder and only upload the theme there. I.e lets say

I want2 upload theme called Bad on my site. I have download it the theme, extracted where I wanted, Now I have this In extracted file

Im not intrested in other folders Im only intrested in html folder I will go in html folder like so. there I have 2 folders I will go in to Themes folder like so

Untill i actualy find the folder with the name of the theme I.E My theme name was bad so now I have the folder Here

Thats as far as i need2 go Now I will drag the folder named bad ( my Theme ) and i will drop it to My FTP so like u sead if your site is subdomain You go in to your domain and Go in to Themes folder there and Drop the Theme There u should also see a standard theme allready there finish that. now go to yoursite.com/admin.php? activate the theme

( bifore u go to admin and activate it there create dummy account, in profiles accounts you will see theme icon go there and change it to theme u just uploadit. This way if sumthing is wrong with it it will only effect that account and not rest of your site. ones u happy it works then u can go to admin section on your site and Set the theme there. let me know how u get on and houpe this helps you bro ) Peace Killerbee

No reason to apologize my friend, I was just stating we cannot help if we don't have all the tools to see the problem.

I'm glad you got it all worked out.
