Looking for a guide - 08-05-2004, 10:09 PM

Is there a step-by-step guide for changing themes? Someone else set my site up for me and I know almost nothing.

Hi Eidolon,

I don't know of any guides but i will post the basics.

1. Upload the PHP-Nuke and/if phpBB theme to /themes
2. Go to Your_Account module, and change the theme for your personal account through there.
2.1 If you want to change the whole sites default theme (that is, so users don't have to change it through Your_Account) then do this:
2.1.1 Go to /admin.php
2.1.2 Click Preferences and go down the page a little, you should see a drop down box with a list of themes you have uploaded in it.
2.1.3 Select your theme, go down to the bottom of the page and select Save Preferences.

php-Nuke and phpBB2 - 08-06-2004, 08:50 AM

I downloaded the phpBB2/admin/index.php. I do not know if it is the same as /admin.php? If not, where the /admin.php from? Also Where can I get the your_account modue?

Also what is the difference between PHP-Nuke and phpBB2?

Thanks.

Hi w91754,

I take it by your reply that you are not running PHP-Nuke, but you are running phpBB. In that case:

1. Upload the theme to /templates/
2. Go to phpBB admin.
2.1 Go to the main category General Admin
2.2 Go to the sub category Configuration
2.3 Go down to Default Style and select your theme from the drop down box.
3. Click Submit
