You can open the file header.html and change:
Code:
<table class="bodyline" width="80%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center">
to:
Code:
<table class="bodyline" width="95%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center">
You can also remove the left blocks when viewing the forums by following these instructions.

i have a bit of a problem and wished now i would have checked here first, i asked a friend of mine if it was possible to alter the forum size on my mstrenches theme..he said yeah thats easy, so i let him do it...now the problem is that it's all messed up...the forum windows open in different sizes...when you first click on forums..no problem...then you click on some of the topics they are different sizes...and the post themselves are even bigger...the weird thing is that it didnt affect all parts of the forums so i have no idea whats going on...i was mad but he said no sweat, just reload the theme...i did that myself and still no change...the forums are still all screwy...

how do i go about fixing this MYSELF this time??? without hopefully losing anything on the site?? :?

btw...i have other themes downloaded, fiblack39 for instance...and when i make that my default i have no problems with any windows in the forum section...all the same size

thanks for any help..

Make sure that when you upload the theme again, it's a unmodified version, and you answer yes to overwrite the files. That will take care of any files he modified.

it was an unmodified version that i loaded, but i used my old header.html file because i had altered it some with links....but when the load didnt fix the problem i swapped out my old header file that i had saved for a fresh one...and still no help...would it be a problem that i didn't just start fresh altogether??

one other question...i followed the link about how to remove the boxes on the left when viewing forums...i got it to work no problem...but i was wondering if there was a way to alter the forums theme so it would be at 100% but leave the index theme at 80%...

thanks again for the help

Uploading the unmodified files for the theme will fix any changes he made. Most likely he modified your header so that's why it didn't help when you uploaded everything but that.

Not that I'm aware of, the theme header controls the width whether you're looking at the site or the forums. A good compromise is setting the theme width to 90-95%.

How would I go about getting rid of the blocks in forum view, so you can't see anything, except the forum?
