Theme upload issues - 11-05-2004, 02:43 AM

Hello all, i have no idea whats goin on. I download a theme for my nuke (7.4) and uploaded it to my site (hosted locally as a test site) and then went to admin panel and set it as default, MY HOME PAGE AND PREFERENCES PAGE WENT BLANK! So, after RE-INSTALLING NUKE FOR THE 10th TIME I thought maybe it was a problem with the theme,,so I uploaded another theme and set it as default, SAME THING HAPPENED,,so I RE-INSTALLED NUKE AGAIN! Went and got ANOTHER theme, set it as default, SAME THING! Im gettin tired of re-installing nuke simply because the themes wont work! What am I doin wrong? Everywhere ive read about theme installs just says to upload it to the themes folder and set it as default but that isnt working for me obviously. Is there some speacial tweak I have to do? Thanks in advance!

Edited by Mikem: Topic title changed. Please don't use the word HELP in your topic title. it is too generalized.

What theme are you trying to install? Totally blank or any errors/warning printed?

Did u moved the folders correctly? When u install nuke is is showing up?
One common mistake (for those not reading the readme file that is) is to move the Pack-fiblack3d folder to the themes/ folder. Thats wrong.
You should move the fiblack3d folder to the themes folder.

DO NOT UPLOAD THE ENTIRE THEME PACK!

all you uplaod is the folder called subBlack3dBlue to your themes folder. Leave it's contents intact and as-is.

Test your theme FIRST by changing it in your account NOT in the ADMIN.
That way if it does not work you can logout of your account, Clear your Cookies and still get to your admin page.

Having problems myself, php-nuke was installed and working fine, then of course I made the fatal mistake of changing the template in the admin and now nothing works.

Here is the error messages I get...checked for the Header.php file, it is installed.

Code:
Warning: head(themes/Pack-subBlack3dblue/theme.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/sdhansen/public_html/EoD2/header.php on line 31

Warning: head(): Failed opening 'themes/Pack-subBlack3dblue/theme.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/sdhansen/public_html/EoD2/header.php on line 31

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: themeheader() in /home/sdhansen/public_html/EoD2/header.php on line 47
Any help would be appreciated.

Can I suggest a sticky "How To"? I opened the Read Me file, and it is not too informative. I did a quick search on this site to see if there were any tutorials on unpacking themes, and came up nil.
