Just some quick help if anyone can offer it
I know this isnt a phbpp site, but i've tried asking there support and they are useless.

You may know a template called "FI Blue 3D"

What I want to do is keep that, but I want to change the qoute/code background from grey to black. I know the color is "000000" but i tried changing it in the editor, but it didn't work, I take it must be part of the .css file.

How do i go about editing that?

This is what I would do...

Step 1. Upload it to your site and take a screen shot .... (Ctrl prt screen)

Step 2. Open that SS in photoshop and hit B or I what ever one is the eye dropper...

Step 3. Where ever the color is you want to change take the dropper and click for it.. Then open the colors menu and find the exact #code it is...

After you have done that open the style.css and Ctrl F ...Play around with the #code color till you find the color you like!

let me know!

oh thats not what i meant... i know how to find the color values... what i am asking here is, i'm using a pre-made template for the site called "FI BLUE 3D.css"

but i want to change the quote/code background color it has for it. In the template it is a grey color, but i want to make it black, or 000000.

but it seems that because it is a .CSS file, it loads the information from that file. so i cant change the color i want to by typing it in where it is supposed to go on the sites edit area. The spaces are blank in the edit field, apart from some text areas (text colors), thats what i mean when i say it seems to load it from the .css file.... adding color codes to the blank spaces does not show up, cause they seem to be coming from the css file and it ignores the sites editor.

So i'm asking how I can go about changing that .CSS file?

Code:
the background of this
see this one is white, on my template it is a dark grey,
and i want to change it to black.
