Hello,
I am new here obviously.. I looked through several forums and did not see anything pertaining to this so forgive me if its in the wrong area.

we are using a custom theme on our site and also have the themes that came along with phpnuke as options as well.

the thing is, our modified them does not have the link at the top for Private Messages and how many you have. If I select any of the other built in themes this link is present. For example..this current site I am on right now has the link at the very top in between Profile and Log Out.. our modified theme does not have that.

My question...how/where can I add this link to my current theme? what file? Is it modules.php or header.html or??

I also looked for a Theme Editor but was unsuccessful, does one exist?

For your Forums open : overall_header.tpl

Find : Members List

or Find whatever after, where you want to put "Private Messages"

Add after same line :

Private Messages

Look at the rest of the line and add any "" or &#????; to match the heading line etc..

edit..not to sound like a complete idiot here, but what is a good program to edit this file with that will retain its formatting?

I myself use CuteFTP you can find that on download.com but iam sure there are many many more ftp programs out there, probably even better lol

Anyway all will/should have edit feature.

I do not see the line you refer to in this file. Here is what is currently in it for the PM stuff. Its only a link to the PM Inbox and will not show how many messages you have if any new.

how can I change this to display amount of new message if any?

Ok its kinda hard to judge as your them was modified

Replace that line with this :

Then I can see how the information is sitting on your site
