Remove blocks from admin? - 07-05-2003, 06:54 AM

Hi,

is there any way of removing the Blocks from admin? So that the blocks wont show whilst in the admin CP.

Thanks in advance.
James.

for what reason? you dont want it there for yourself? or for another admin to see? just set his capabilities so he cant see the blocks portion.

Hi, its because most of my blocks (User Info, Survey ect) appear to clash when e.g. sending out newsletters, i thought the easiest way around it would be to remove the blocks from admin, simaler to removing the blocks from the Forums but cant do it that exact way because the "admin" section doesnt appear as a module name if you get my drift.

Cheers
James

  • admin/modules/blocks.php
  • admin/links/links.blocks.php
  • admin/case/case.blocks.php
don't understand why but doesn't matter

sorry i dont think i was clear enough, what i would like to do is make it so the actuall activated "left blocks" will not show when in the Admin section, the link to the Blocks admin is fine. e.g. like the blocks arnt shown on the forums here.

Thanks
James

I did, but the problem is that the admin name is not a module name, so i for instance put it not to show in "Content" it would still show in Content Admin

I'm fully aware it isn't a module thank you.

The premise would be the same, if you look at the code in theme.php, more specifically the code related to the blocks there are only a few variables.

Why don't you tell me what you have tried, and any subsequent errors you may have gotten.
