More than 3 usergroups? - 05-17-2003, 01:19 AM

For my clansite I need more than 3 usergroups. Currently I can only find "Anonymous", "Registered" and "Administrator" as groups - and no option in the Admin-Menu that could add one.

Maybe I am just blind, so I thought I ask the community before I start modding around.

If there is any mod/hack/whatever that supports the following or only part of this list and you can tell me a link where I can find it, I would be most grateful:

- add/edit usergroups
- set permissions for these usergroups (via the modules administration)

- news module displays only news that are the usergroup of the current user is allowed to read.

i think NSN has a Groups mod
ou can get more details here: http://www.nukescripts.net/ (This site is currently offline for upgrades)

here is a link to an other NSN site that has the groups mod
http://ews3.elitewebservers.net/~bma...tails&lid=1059

Thanks for the link! Sounds like exaclty what I am searching ... Too bad I cant try out right now ... gonna check it again later to see if site is up again.

Lets hope that it's not one of those "final" upgrades (those that never end)

[edit]
good, I found a working download link on a german page ... all set up - its working but I cannot set any permissions for groups ... searching that site for another script that may help...

... found the option in the modules admin to set specific modules for a group visible or not: Problem is that I dont need to set it for a module but for a news/story category.

... well i found that script too ... time to get it working...
another stop: only found a version for PHPnuke 6.0 ...

did not give up yet ... unfortunately uploading the fÃÂÂÂ*les for the 6.0 (or above) version somehow made my test-page completely unusable ... hehe ... good thing I actually did a backup.

no chance - I tried version 6.0 and the forum module really doesnt support what I need + the News + Groups addon didnt work somehow.

Time to start modding the Groups Addon for 6.5 so it also affects the news module - I'll post you a version if I should ever finish it before its implemented in PHP-Nuke 6.6+

wasnt that difficult as "CJW" added comments wherever he changed something - just had to adapt that to PHP-Nuke 6.5

Makeing a new topic to announce the modification
