Ok. I run a few sites on powweb and have never had problems with PHP-Nuke.

My advice. Restore the modules.php file to it's original State. Remove any coding or mods that you installed that affected the modules.php file.

You said you added some text to something? Remove it.

Replace your modules.php file with the one from the Security Patch3 Fix at http://www.nukeresources.com
Better yet. Install all files from the Security Patch.

Replacing the files in the Security patch over the ones on your FTP server won't erase anything.
I wonder if it is possible that you are missing some files or something.
Are you using a custom theme?
I've never heard of anyone causing outages from their modules file before, but maybe it's happened before...

Man that would be a nightmare, to have your site crashing the server and not know why, if you have them activate it and it does it again im sure you will be looking for another hosting service. I am also with powweb, so i hope it doesnt do it to me. Could it be a hacking attemp of some kind?

ROFL .

That reminds me of when i crashed my ISP(for my general area). I sent and email to myself so i could get a file from a remote location to my PC at home, b/c i couldnt' get any FTP software working on the computer. I get emails saying that the email could not be delivered b/c the address doesn't exist, but it was to myself, from myself, and the email address that it could not be delivered to was myself :? .

Anyways, for 4 days i was averaging 40 000 emails a day, and several times my cable conection didnt' work, so after calling my ISP, they said there was a network overload b/c somone had recieved too many emails, i told them my story, and they said thats what it was. The many emails also crashed my computer 3 times trying to delete them. 8O
