Recruiting form, posting to website rather than email - 07-17-2003, 07:27 PM

Had anyone done anything like this before? The mechwarrior unit I play with would like to be able to recruit from the website. They want a small form with some basic questions that will post somewhere for admin rather than being sent to an email. Any help with this would be great! If you have the ability to do this, I'd be willing to trade off some of my talent or services!

Thanks in advance!

well, I can understand how that would work great. I can't seem to see where the information goes once feedback is submitted though. Does it get sent to email? Or is there something in the admin section that I'm missing?

Just make a simple module. make a new database table to hold the info and a form to submit the info. now if you want the admins to be the only ones that can retrieve the info that is trickier. You could add it to the admin panel or use some other tools to make some modules private and some public.

lots of different ways to do it. if you never get any help on this and I have some time(which is rare) I will help you with this but it could be a couple days. Im sure someone else could help you faster.

I think I may need some help, lol... I have no problem with forms, but don't have much experience with adding and retrieving data from the database, If you do have time in the near future to help, it would be VERY appreciated and if not, we'll see if there's anyone else out here who has some knowledge of how to do this

Thanks again!

oh, and I don't necessarily have to have it post to the admin section on the website. I could add a new directory and it could be used with a simple page to pull the information. I could just call it the recruitment control panel and just password protect it with .htaccess. To me, that seems like the easiest way...I'm pretty sure I can do all of that, just not sure how to get the info submitted to post to the proper places, etc.
