Request - 04-23-2003, 09:03 PM

Hello. I have a module request. If someone will make this for me/point me in the right direction on which Modules to download, I would be grateful. OK, here goes...

I run a gaming site. I have will this on my Main Menu:

Games
Reviews
Accessories
Companies
Codes
Multimedia

For the Games page, admins can enter a new Game title (which would link to a review, if that game has one). The Game would appear in a table that the user would be able to search within the main PHPNuke Search module, via Company (link to company, if info available), Year, Codes (link, if codes available), number of players, and other fields like Multimedia (YES (link)/NO) or if certain Accessories were available for that game.

For good measure, I think the Games list should be dealt with in its own database. I can have up to 3. One with nuke in it, (of course) one for the Games table, and a third for...who knows?

For Reviews, a game would be ranked in a certain number of categories (I know I've seen a review system with an overall ranking, but that's not enough). The page would show the corresponding game title, ratings, publisher (with link), codes/multimedia (if applicable), number of players and any accessories listed. Box art would also be shown. If the person that wrote the review was a site Admin, the Review would be declared "Site" if not, it would be a "User review". When a User reviews a game, the box art, multimedia, etc. would be filled in. All the user would have to enter would be his/her scores and of course, their review.

Accessories: I might be able to do this section since it will only list certain accessories for games along with info and pictures, but it would probably also list the names of games that used that certain accessory, whihc would link to a review of that game, if applicable.

Companies: This would be similar to the Accessories section, but it would list the names of companies, and have info about each Company. A list of all the games published by that company would be displayed, which would link to (yup, you guessed it) reviews.

Codes: Codes would be listed alphabetically by game. Codes would be listed. Pretty obivious.

...and lastly...

Multimedia: This section would contain multimedia (screenshots, videos, music possibly, etc) for each game. Listed like the codes section.

If ANYBODY can help me out with this, I will be sure to give them a big thank you in our About Us section of my site. I know it is a lot, but I know this Forum is brimming with PHP programmers far more advanced than myself. I know this is like saying: Whoa! Gimmie a whole site that is worth thousands of dollars. Hmmm...a good reference that I saw on the net might be here. Luckily, it's PHP. They had something that might fit the bill. It would be totally awesome if you could integrate this into PHPNuke.

You might be thinking: why did you get PHPNuke then? Why not vgPortal? Well, vgPortal...is...erm...not that user-friendly. Plus, the programmers haven't worked on it in a long time, and I don't think they will. They might even help you out if you were to say that you would be using it in PHPNuke.

Hello.

When I changed my email address in my Profile, and went to the reactivation link, it showed nothing on the Information page. So, I had to make another account.

Anyway, if anyone has ANY suggestions to what I should do, please reply.

Thanks again.

Then re-loggin.
Whenever you see a Page in the forum that just shows Inofrmation and you knwo you are logge din, it means the Forusm did not recognize your loggin.
If you still cannot get logged in. Clear all your cookies and close all your browsers.
