Question regarding theme modification
Hello.. Im really new to nuke/themes and I have a question that Im sure someone can answer. I would like to add a scrolling marquee in my header.html file. I would like to pull the data in the marquee from a php file. Is this possible? I believe I have to just define a variable in the theme.php file, then in the header.html use the variable. Is this correct? I have tried some basic things, but cannot get the data out of the file. I have verified that my row shows up in my theme and I can put the word Foo in it, and it will show. Its just a matter of pulling from the php now.

Thanks for any help. Just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Yes you are on the right track

You need to make sure that ALL the php you add to the theme.php to grab your data is there and then assign a variable for the result. Then add that variable to the html to get it to display.
Basically the same way I did the banners to show them to the right of the logo in the 6.5 themes.

Thanks. Glad to know Im on the right track..I wanted to scroll the latest news stories, my code to pull the data was in the php file, but you tipped me off to something that I need to have the code to pull the data in the theme.php instead. Which explains a lot.

Thanks again.
