subBlack won't let me get into the forum admin...
I got Nuke 6.5 installed no problem.... except that it won't let me access the forum admin menu. It gives me the error message:

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not open subBlack template config file

DEBUG MODE

Line : 349
File : /home/controlb/public_html/includes/functions.php

Any suggestions or fixes?

hmm..wierd. You sure you downloaded the Correct theme pack?

For Nuke 6.5 all you do is upload the entire subBllack folder in the themes folder in the pack to your themes folder on your server.
I just testes it on my 6.5 test site and it works with no problems...

Mikem, secondary question about subblack theme PACK....
When I uploaded it to my themes directory, everything seemed to work fine, except that the subBlack theme is not selected in the admin tool for the forum, just the subSilver. So I came here, saw the help page about how to install it into the template folder, ie:

Quote:
Upload it to your modules/Forums/templates folder. Once that is done, you need to enter your Forums, go to your Administration for the Forums, then to Styles, ADD. You will see a list of templates/styles you can add. The one you just uploaded SHOULD be on that list for you to add.
so I I got confused as to what part I'm suppose to put under the templates folder. Do I put the "forums" folder under there (That didn't work)? Do I overwrite original "forums" folder files above the "templates" folder

The only thing tat seemed to work slightly, was when I created a folder under templates called "subBlack" and copied (not moved) everything from under the "forums" folder.

Any help would be appreciated

UPDATE: As an anonymous user or anyone else registered, the forum works as it is suppose to (without anything under template).

In the Admin Tool for the forum, i have the standard subsilver theme, when going to the forum index, it is the subblack theme, and the forum preview button gives me the following error message.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: opentable() in /home/virtual/site155/fst/var/www/html/mainfile.php on line 238

So, please tell me how I need to put something in the template folder.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks
Murph

No Admin template files in the forum
I, too, have noticed that the downloaded fisubsilver theme does not seem to have the template files (.tpl) in an admin subdirectory for the forums.
The directions seem to say, "Put them all in the main themes directory just like they are unzipped, but the 6.5 nuke program files still seem to have the forum templates directory for the forum themes in the modules/forum/templates directory, and they contain an admin subdirectory.
My question is, "Which way should we go?"
And, can I use the forum admin template files from the fisubsilver pack for 6.0 for 6.5?
How much of a difference is there between the theme packs for 6.0 and 6.5?

.
The subBlack theme pack came with the folder also, but just ignore it. You don't need to do anything with the template folder or anything below it.

Hoo boy
It looks like I'm having the same problem, but I think I've come up with some significant information to narrow it down.

I'm getting the error:
Code:
Could not open subBlack template config file
It does this a) when I click the link for Forums on the administration page, and b) if I switch the site's default style to something other than subBlack and view the forums as an anonymous user. I think it's worth noting that I still get that exact message, regardless of what theme I switch to; e.g. I can change the nuke theme to Milo and it still says "can't find subBlack template".

I was using PHP-Nuke 6.0 with the phpBB port by Tom, then upgraded to nuke 6.5 by running the upgrade script found here on NukeMods. I have since upgraded to 6.7 in an attempt to fix it, to no avail.

I did a site search here and these are the other threads that look most relevant:
http://www.nukemods.com/modules.php?...te+config+file
http://www.nukemods.com/modules.php?...te+config+file
http://www.nukemods.com/modules.php?...te+config+file

After reading in that last one where MikeM says, "That message means that your Forums are using a template that is not in your modules/Forums/templates directory or doens't have a theme_info.cfg file" I checked the directory and sure enough, it only has a subSilver folder (as I imagine it should). When I looked at the 6.0 backup, I found that my modules/Forums/templates directory had only a subBlack folder.

This makes sense to me, because under my 6.0 install, I had added subBlack and removed all other themes (as I did not want users having the option to choose themes).

After uploading my old modules/Forums/templates/subBlack directory, I am now able to get into the forum admin, and mostly it seems to work ok. There are two exceptions:

1) in the upper left, just above the phpBB logo, I get this error:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_PRINT in
[my Nuke path]/modules/Forums/admin/admin_avatar.php on line 223

2) If I switch the site theme to something else (like Milo), and an anonymous user looks at forums, the nuke portions are in Milo (the left blocks, top header), but everything else (the forum part) is still in subBlack.

It seems to me that somewhere, the old phpBB theme settings are being used rather than whatever it is that nuke 6.5 is supposed to do. I purged all the old files before uploading 6.7, so I'm assuming this is a database issue and not a config file problem.

I have the opportunity to use the forum admin to switch its default theme, add subSilver back in, etc. but I'm not sure what this will do. I'm afraid it will just create the same problem with whatever theme I install, plus I dont really know if it will overwrite something else that Nuke is using.

So... I think I should have enough documentation of the problem here to get a prize or something... But I'd settle for an idea of what to do.

Lesson time.

Just to clarify.
Using Nuke6.5 and up.
IF your Nuke theme DOES not have a matching phpBB template within it's theme folder, then when you view you Forums, you will see your DEFAULT style. Otherwise, you will see the matching tempalte with the Nuke theme you use. Like the themes we release.

Now as for the Admin part. It is controlled by whatever your default template is set at in your Forums Admin. IF this template is not present in your modules/Forums/templates folder, then you will get errors.
I always recommend having subSilver as the ONLY installed Forum template and setting it as the defualt style in the Forum Admin. Makes things much simpler.

And of course, remember, if your Nuke theme DOES NOT have a matching Forum template, then it will revert to the default Forum template when you go to your Forums. In your case, it's subBlack. IF you install one of our Matching theme packs for Nuke6.5, then you won't have that issue.
That is why I recommend subSilver as the default forum style. It looks better with most Nuke themes like Milo when they don't match than subBlack would.

just to be crystal clear
Thanks Mike! Helpful as always.

So, regarding my particular situation, am I correct in saying I should:

1) Add the subSilver theme in the forum admin
2) Set it to the forum default theme
3) remove the subBlack forum theme

and none of this should touch anything related to the rest of the nuke site.

Correct?

neat
Thanks, worked like a charm. I still have the "unexpected t_print" thing going on though. Any idea what that is? It's probably unrelated, and seems to not affect any functionality, but I'm still curious.
Pasted from above:

1) in the upper left, just above the phpBB logo, I get this error:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_PRINT in
[my Nuke path]/modules/Forums/admin/admin_avatar.php on line 223
