admin viewed WYSIWIG text boxes in 7.7
I have all of a sudden had a weird text box while signed in as an admin on my site! If you are not signed in as admin, the problem doesn't happen!

A white "editing" box seems to be overlayed on top of the text boxes while logged in as admin

This is what it looks like as an admin - when attempting to use the box...it first says that you must first insert something to be posted....then it has messed up html coding along with the text you put into the box for submission.

This is what it looks like logged in as a normal user!

I guess my first question makes me dumb....have I been hacked? I can't figure this out! (I also randomly had a "moderation" option in my administration menu that let me set 'karma' for users....no clue where that came from!

I'd appreciate any feedback....

thanks,
tears

YOu have not been hacked. This must be a bug or something, everyone that has PHP-Nuke 7.7 gets the same annoying wysiwyg box. Reason why many ppl have downgraded to 7.6 again.

As long as you are not logged in as admin it wont happen.

wsiswyg editor
This may be a little late, but I found a solution to the same problem in a forum on a site, can't remeber which one. It seems to have fixed the problem, and i have not noticed any glitches from it. Go to the includes folder and find javascript.php. Change the name to something else, like javascript.no.php

That will get rid of the editor box.

Find the file "config.php" in the nuke root folder.
Locate this line
Code:
$advanced_editor  = 0                              ;
Change it to
Code:
$advanced_editor  = 1                              ;
No site told me to do this, I found it through trial and error. FYI, I didn't downgrade to 7.6 or anything, just kept it at 7.7. It seems to work fine when I did it this way

I have tested this and it seems to have worked beautifully.

config.php
ya i changed the advanced editor = 1

in config.php and it solved the problem where html tags were being displayed in forum posts...

but now html tags are displayed along with member signatures when they post....

can this be solved as well ?

thanks.
