Attached PHPBB Forum Question - 01-06-2006, 03:28 PM

Im running Nuke 7.7 which has the phpbb forum 2.0.14 attached.

Ive finally figured out how to get my themes loaded up, but this poses a few additional questions.

I've chosen Mediocre as the default theme on my site, and the forum is also using this theme. But when I go into configuration within the forum itself it only displays the default style of subsilver and none of the other site/forum themes I have chosen are available to choose.

Would this be the reason why a lot of my forums regular functions are super buggy? Examples

http://www.vetzballin.com/nuke/modul...wtopic&p=51#51

I created a test section within my forum to show examples of what I mean but regular functions not working. For some reason I cannot simply click the buttons for bold, italics, underline, etc. When I click the buttons nothing happens. Also if I manually type in the respective "codes" all kinds of weird things happen some of which is shown in the link.

Its almost like html is trying to combine itself with BBCode, this is also causing it to be next to impossible to attach signatures, etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't believe these are related issues.

Your forum admin panel will still show subSilver as the default theme because its likely the only theme located in your html/modules/Forums/templates/ folder. The reason your seeing a completely different skin on your forums is because its a .css file located in your html/themes/yourthemename/forums folder which overrides the default subSilver theme.

As for the coding errors in your forums, it sounds like your version of nuke needs to be patched as I had similar issues with a 7.8 install once.

One more question, does a wysiwyg editor come as part of your 7.7 install?

Not that I am aware of Duke...

I dont recall seeing anything labeled wysiwyg editor, do you know what patches would be needed and where to find these needed patches?

Your problem is with the HTML editor that was put into 7.7. Backup your site and patch it to 3.1 available here.

Thanx CB...

So once I extract these files, they should be placed in my nuke root folder, in place of the existing files?

Yes. Please backup your site and db first! Upload the files overwriting the old ones, fill in the new config.php with the info from your backed up copy, then run the upgrade.php.

Did you remember to fill in the new config.php that was included in the patch?

OK guys im back....I fixed my HTML issue without installing the patch. Im sure I will need to in the future. But a new problem has surfaced, I decided to start upgrading my forums from 2.0.14 all the way up, but I ran into a problem when I went to 2.0.15.

I ran the upgrade script and it let me know that everything had upgraded just fine. The forums look as they should, but I cannot access the admin panel. When I click that link I get a blank page. Ive searched several sites and it seems like im running around in circles, trying to find a fix.

Does anyone here know what the problem is?
