The best version of nuke - 12-17-2005, 08:17 PM

I'm currently running phpnuke 7.0 with 2.0.6 forums and will be upgrading (I think) when I secure a new reliable webhost. The question is, what is the best version of nuke and forums to use? I know with the forums its always a good idea to stay as current as possible, but I've seen mixed reviews on nuke cms versions.

Thanks.

7.6 is the version to use at this point, along with chatserv's patches and sentinel. I highly recommend taking a look at Raven's distro, it's all patched up and comes with sentinel installed. We're running it here.

Just out of curiousity, can I upgrade from 7.0 all the way up to this version or is it meant specifically for fresh installs?

I have 4 sites that require upgrading and two of them have pretty big databases, I'd hate to compromise their integrity in the upgrading process.

We always test major changes like upgrades on a mirror site beforehand. You'll just need to run each upgrade script in succession since you're so many versions back. As always, backups are your friend.

Oh I'm completely paranoid.

I do all my testing here: http://www.testing.lifesupporters.net

You may recognize the theme.
