After installing phpnuke 7.9 I get the following error at the top of page.
and in the control panel when I attempt ot acess the forum adim page it is blank any ideas?

If this is a fresh install with nothing on the db yet, I'd suggest forgetting 7.9 and installing 7.6.

Sounds like you enabled gzip in the forums. Use phpMyAdmin and go to your _bbconfig table. Browse and find the field 'config_name' that is 'gzip_compress' - if its set to 1 edit and set the 'config_value' to '0'

As Duke said, we don't recommend using any version higher than 7.6 but if you feel you have to, patch it.
