Disallow registration by certain email domains - 02-04-2007, 03:20 PM

Is there a way/hack to disallow registrations from certain email domains, such as .ru?

Do you really want to disable the whole .ru address or just a few domains in particular?

I guess particular domains would better, we never had anyone from Russia join, one from Ukraine, but I wouldn't want to exlcude everyone in Russia really.

Also I noticed a lot of the spam accounts are gmail.com. They can't actually do anything bad, or even have websites in their profiles without posting a few times, but it just looks naff having a load of names like xbcgstyzOZ2w in the memberlist with no posts. I could just go through the database once a month a purge them all I guess.

Yea as you cant punish someone as they use a gmail.com account.....

I use googlemail.com for registering on sites and keep my hotmail.co.uk one private as it uses my name and it then is giving to only people who need it but i do like other people being able to email me via the site....

Just purging them would be better

If your using raven nuke .76 w/Sentinal, you can block the domains in Sentinal I believe.
