Forums/images/smilies help needed please - 01-01-2006, 01:30 PM

Hi all,

I have tried to add more smilies taken from the ones you use on nukemods,

ok i right clicked and saved the ones i wanted to a folder, then uploaded each one to the forums/images/smilies location etc,

in our nuke 7.6 they would not show in the smilies area when in forums post? so looked at the originals we had and noticed they were all pre named with icon_ so even renamed the new ones with the pre icon_ name etc, they will still show so we can use them,

i have noticed also that our originals are all 15x15 pixels could this be the problem as the new ones are larger and various sizes?

i'm fairly new to this and must be making a stupid mistake i know, can anyone let me know what i'm doing wrong please

thanks inadvance

There is no smiley size restrictions (at least not in nuke 7) for image size or file size.

I know that you uploaded the smileys but did you actually activate them in your smiley admin panel?

You have to go to your phpBB admin panel (Forums Admin), look for "General Admin." and then click on "Smilies". You will now see a list of currently active smilies in your forums. Click on "Add a New Smiley", create an easy to remember shortcut code such as :-0: :winky: or something that represents the smiley that your activating, locate the smiley image file from your smiley drop down box and lastly, give the smiley a description.

Click submit and you should now see your new smiley on the smiley list.
