Need help installing 7.6 - 07-18-2006, 08:44 PM

I have installed php-nuke 7.6 before, but I went and deleted it, and tried isntalling it again and it doesn't work. I have tried 4 or 5 times to install this correctly, but it never works. I followed the instructions except for they say to edit the config.php file after installing the tables and doing the setup, but I HAVE to edit the config.php file before installing the tables, and doing the setup... Because they come up with an error saying that you need to config the config.php file, before continuing. This is what it sais:

.. I INSTALLED the configuration table.. I think.. Is that like config.php? or is it the tables that you install with the rest? Someone please help me on this one! Thanks!

Yes. I ran that.. I ran it though, after I edited config.php. The directions said that to run the installsql.php, before editing config.php.. But there is no way to do that, because it sais that config.php did not match the database. That is all that I changed around.. I really need to figure this out today, because I won't be here for a week.

God knows how you are coming to your conclusion but here are the order of instructions with the copy of raven nuke that I have.

Quote:
Prepare/Install the Files
Obviously, since you are reading this, you have unpacked the RavenNuke76â„¢ distro, most likely on your desktp PC. If you have SSH access you may have been able to unpack it directly to your server. In either case, you now need to edit the config.php file and supply the MySQL settings with the Database Name,
Quote:
Save the file and exit your editor. Now, FTP ALL of the unzipped files contained in the "html" folder to your root web folder, usually "www" or "public_html", but don't ftp the html folder itself unless you intend to install this in a sub-folder named "html". The difference in the two are as follows. Let's assume your root site folder is "public_html".
Quote:
From your browser, type in http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/INSTALLATION/installSQL.php and select GO or press the ENTER key. You will be directed to a new Installation script that I have especially written for this application.

You should be able to just follow the instructions here:

<--link PM'd-->

If you do as this tells you to in the correct order, installation is a piece of cake.

Alright, I will try again for the 4th time. I have read the rules the whole time... and I do what it tells me to do. Like I have said, the only thing I have changed around is, I congifure config.php before I start the Install SQL, and Setup. But the directions are in the order, to where, they tell you to install SQL and setup before configuring config.php. But I will try again. Thanks!

As I said via PM, if you follow the instructions exactly as they are written in that url, you will have no problems. I've installed this exact CMS 6 times now with no issues whatsoever.

Ok. I tried it, but it STILL does not work. So, I went to phpnuke.org and downloaded there 7.6. I get this error though:

Warning: head(themes//theme.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/tina/public_html/header.php on line 31

Warning: head(): Failed opening 'themes//theme.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/tina/public_html/header.php on line 31

Fatal error: Unknown function: themeheader() in /home/tina/public_html/header.php on line 51

Thanks!
