Nuke 7.8 WYSIWYG Problems
Hello all,

I just setup PHP-Nuke from fantastico on my webhost, and it had this bug with almost all the modules where the WYSIWYG editor where it didnt parse the HTML that was made by the editor itself. So then I upgraded to Nuke 7.8 and it still wont work, I modified settings and did all sorts of thing to try and fix it. Does anyone know how to solve this problem??

Thanks!

why not post a sticky on this?
i dont know why these so called nuke support sites dont just post a stickey on this. i myself have answered this several times on several sites. and i see this question every time i go to a support site. i know the frustration on trying to find the answer ... so i try to help.

here ya go....

Find the file "config.php" in the nuke root folder.
Locate this line
Code:
$advanced_editor = 0 ;

Change it to
Code:
$advanced_editor = 1

then go here:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.p...v=1.1&view=log

get the javascript.php file and replace in your includes folder.

it worked for my site.

good luck.

This is actually a problem with the Fantastico Power Tool install. I too have had the same problem with it, the entire install in fact is buggy. IMHO, I'd install manually with an older version of nuke such as 7.6.

I've also heard of security issues with 7.8 and up which is another reason I'd suggest you stay away from it but thats just an IMHO.

I can only suggest installing with an older version of nuke then. I've heard so many issues with the newer versions that its just not worth the trouble. The other problem with newer versions of nuke is that theres's virtually no information on how to fix the problems.

How would I go about securing a 6.5 version then? I installed sec 3 patch on it.

My original site is on 6.5 and gets hacked a lot so I was going to upgrade it to 7.9

The site is, jerlabs.net

It looks like there are so many secruity holes, i don't know where to start. And im afraid previous hackers might have left back doors.

Do you have protector or sentinal installed?

That may be a good place to start.
